WHAT DOES A TIME LAPSE VIDEO COST?

PRE-PRODUCTION

After we have received a completed Booking Form and a Purchase Order, Pre-Production commences. This involves organising the logistics of your project, not just the installation but the ongoing maintenance and management of the project.

If required a site visit prior to installation allows us to meet the site team to discuss the project and address any concerns they may have to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.  We can identify the most suitable positions for the cameras.

Whilst on site we can undertake any induction process to save time on the day of installation.

INSTALLATION

We arrive on site with all our equipment and the relevant PPE ready to go.  After we have undertaken any induction process and had our daily site activity briefing etc and have completed all the paperwork (permits etc) we will then install the cameras in the pre-agreed positions.

We are safety accredited including CSCS, PASMA and Harness Safety qualifications.

The cameras are safely installed as per the RAMS, checked, re-checked and then programmed to start recording.  If the client cannot be present we can email a photograph illustrating the exact camera viewpoint for approval. We log all our workings so we know exactly what we have done for future reference.

TRAVEL EXPENSES

We charge for travel expenses from our office to the site.  If we are required on site very early in the morning we like to travel the night before and stay over ensuring we are on site on time.

SERVICE VISITS

If you have chosen the battery powered camera option the cameras will need to be serviced at regular intervals (usually 6-7 weeks).  The frequency of the service visits depends on the battery lifespan or the capacity of the memory cards, whichever expires soonest. On each service visit we clean all the equipment including the housings and lenses. We will check everything is working correctly, replace the batteries and change the memory card.  We also check the camera has not been accidentally knocked and moved.

We will back-up the memory card data on site and check the files are accessible. The data is securely stored on return to our offices.

If required, the service visits enable us to move the cameras to cover a different aspect of the site or even install additional cameras.

Progress edits for social media and stakeholder updates after each service visit can be created.

Service visits are not required if you have chosen our remote site monitoring cameras.

REMOVAL OFF ALL EQUIPMENT

On completion of the project we safely remove all our equipment from site.

FILE PROCESSING

The time lapse camera is programmed to take a photograph at regular intervals.  This results in thousands of individual photographs (image files) that need to be processed.

Photographs straight from the camera are a 3:2 ratio, whereas television and computer screens require a 16:9 ratio. Therefore the original files from the camera need to be cropped. This will have been considered when composing the original photograph in the camera viewfinder.

We also make any necessary adjustments such as exposure, contrast, shadow detail etc These changes are designed to enhance the finished video. All these adjustments are done using several specialist software programmes.

CREATION OF THE TIME LAPSE SEQUENCES.

The processed image files are then ‘stitched’ together to form the time lapse sequences.

EDITING

The time lapse sequences are imported into the editing software. The footage will probably feature periods of inactivity, such as weekends and during the night. This is all removed.  We create a ‘rough-cut’ edit combining all the chosen footage, voiceover and music as per the client brief. We add titles, logos and contact details.  This is posted securely on line so all the stakeholders can view the video and feedback with any required changes.

Alternative versions of your video can be created to reflect different viewing platforms such as social media, DVD’s  or trade shows

DELIVERY OF YOUR FINAL VIDEO

Once we have made all the required changes we deliver the video in the file format required.
